ABOUT LABA

Fueling Futures One Pedal Stroke at a Time

We’re passionate about bicycles. We believe that bikes offer a simple solution to many of our communities’ complex problems. Bikes are great for your personal health and for the health of our environment. Bikes can help you save money on transportation, and bikes can provide you with endless miles of fun with your family and friend

At Los Angeles Bicycle Academy (LABA), we believe a bicycle is more than just transportation. It's a vehicle for change, a gateway to opportunity, and a key to unlocking the potential of young people in our city's most underserved communities. We're not just a bike shop; we're a community center, a mentorship hub, and a cheering squad for all riders, big and small!

From Broken Bikes to Bright Futures...

We understand the barriers that stand between underprivileged youth and the open road. That's why LABA offers more than just bike sales and repairs. We provide scholarships for equipment and coaching, pair young riders with experienced mentors, and organize local events that nurture passion and build confidence. Every penny earned through our bike shop fuel's our core mission: empowering young cyclists to reach their full potential, both on and off the saddle.

Here's how we roll:

  • Bike Sales & Service: We offer a carefully curated selection of affordable, high-quality bikes, along with expert repair and maintenance services. Whether you're a seasoned racer or a nervous newbie, we'll get you equipped and rolling smoothly.

  • Community Hub: Our shop is more than just a storefront; it's a welcoming space where young riders can learn, connect, and share their passion for cycling. We host workshops, skill clinics, and social events that build a supportive network and foster lifelong friendships.

  • Mentorship Program: We connect experienced cyclists and coaches with aspiring young riders, creating a powerful synergy of passion and expertise. Mentors provide guidance, support, and career advice, helping young cyclists navigate the world of cycling and beyond.

  • Empowering Events: We organize inclusive rides, races, and community events specifically designed for our young riders. These events provide a safe and encouraging environment for them to test their skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of competition.

Join the Movement:

By choosing LABA for your bike needs, you're not just getting a tune-up or a new set of wheels; you're investing in the future of cycling and the next generation of leaders. Every purchase, every donation, every mile pedaled together helps us break down barriers, nurture dreams, and empower young riders to build brighter futures, one pedal stroke at a time.

Get involved:

  • Visit our shop and browse our bikes!

  • Sign up for a workshop or join a community event.

  • Consider donating or volunteering your time and skills.

  • Spread the word and share our story!

Together, we can make a difference. Let's get Los Angeles rolling, one young cyclist at a time!

Remember: At LABA, we're not just fixing bikes; we're fixing futures.
