L.A.B.A. is a youth cycling team and bicycle education program, with a mission to empower, educate and develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills in youth between the ages of 8-18.
Our focus is to work with youth from underserved communities where opportunity, access, equity, and exposure within the sport of cycling is extremely limited. We want to help more young people learn the positive impact a bicycle can have on their own lives, and the lives of those around them.
We have BIG goals moving into 2022:
- Launch our very own Community Bike Shop – Provide bicycle servicing, help sustain our organization, serve as a centralized location to connect more youth to the sport of cycling, and to raise cycling awareness for the community at-large.
- Launch Earn-A-Bike – This is a fun, experiential earn and learn program that introduces youth ages 8-18 to bicycle safety education, bicycle mechanics and maintenance, as well as life lessons!
- Bicycle Career Education and Programming – This program will focus on career exploration in the bicycle industry and beyond through providing job readiness development, and in person and virtual training in bicycle retail.
- Expand our Race Team – Develop and support a women’s cycling team in 2022!
